Is polygamy a necessity or a desire?

Allah says: “and marry such of you as are solitary”. Light 32.
Men mostly sign of speaking about a new marriage! To renew their youth. They say this jokingly to their wives in order to laugh.
This speech draws men's jealousy, so they quickly blame their men.
This speech maybe a result of a desire and a fear at the same time.
The desire that is exited in Jacob’s self, so he can't say it a loud, and the fear that makes man keep this necessity through his heart, so he accidentally makes a joke or a laugh, then he keeps it again.
What a beautiful joke of man! It is especially when speaking about the unmarried, the divorce, or widows, who are all husbandless.
But here the joke becomes true. Our prophet says: “Three things are considered serious whether they are said jokingly or seriously: marriage, divorce and freeing a slave”
And to explain this we have to speak about five points:
1) This "Aya" which was mentioned in the title, comes after speaking about lowering the gaze, being modest and keeping their adornment. This keeps the woman pure and "fortified" because marriage – as Mohammad says- helps in lowering the gaze and being modest.
2) Who are the solitary?
Al Baghawi says: “solitary is a plural whose singular means the follow who has no mate.” It is said about both man and woman. And the Aya means: make them marry. Don't let them be single.
Al Nassafi says: “solitary is a plural, and it means that who has no wife or husband”
3) Who is the addressee?
The Aya says! Oh believers, make them marry who have no wife or husband. Ibn Ajeeba says: “Allah says: make marry, this means an order to marry and he says: solitary this means he who has no mate.” this is a kind of order not to let anyone unmarried.
And the addressee here is the ruler as well as the protecting friends who are in change of that. So Allah here addresses all of us and no one has an excuse except if he/she unable to marry.
4) Perfection of the address: no solitary will be let unmarried.
This naturally leads to polygamy.

Because the number of those who want to marry from the two sexes will never be balanced, as there are always causes for un marrying. The solution of this crisis clearly appears in polygamy, taking into consideration the responsibility that the woman lies upon males especially in the societies that believe in marriage.
5) The reaction of Mohammad's comrades toward this holy (godly) order :
The comrades have understood this address, and they took the theme meant in it. Here, there are two stories which can be an example, and they are found in Bukhari and Muslim.
The first story is about Hafsa , Omar Ibn Alkhattab 's daughter . She is the wife of khonays Ibn Hozafa Al Sihami who fought bravely in Badr, and died in Madina.
Omar says: “I found other man and asked him to marry her.” He said: “I will think, and then he told me that he would not marry.” Omar says I found Abo Baker. I asked him to marry her. He has said nothing .Omar was very sad .Then the prophet asked me to marry her. I promptly agreed.
Abo Baker explained his appositive, negative position. He has already known that the prophet would like to marry her. So he can't accept, and he can't speak about the prophet's secret.
So, Omar, Abo Baker, and Othman, all have understood this kind of polygamy. And the prophet assures that my accepting to marry Hafsa, although he is already married.
The second story is Othman's behavior which is as that of Omar's.
Al-Kama says: I was walking with Abdullah in Mina when he saw Othman . Othman asked him to marry a young maid in order to renew his youth. Abdullah answered him by our prophet's hadith: "oh, young! He who is able to marry, he should do. It is a kind of lowering the gaze and being modest. And if he can't, he should fast because it is a sort of medicine.
This story was told by Abdullah Ibn Mas'ood.
Al Nawawi has said it is preferable to ask anyone of your good comrades to marry your daughter, because it is very useful for her.
And as a conclusion, we would like to understand as they have understood. And we do as they have done , depending upon Allah's orders ,and his prophet 's Sunnah in order not to live in a very bad society where things change, i.e. bad becomes good and vice versa, and where the forbidden is changed into simple, easy doings.

Polygamy In Islam

Marriage in Islam is a civil contract, and it has a spiritual value. Allah in Glorious Koran tells us to marry. Man who marries perfects his religion. And marriage can be performed for one or more of several reasons:

Reasons of Marriage in Islam:

1- Multiplication of the human race.

2- Unification of different people.

3- Developing the feeling of respect and love.

But, in some cases, some problems appears in the relationship between the man and his wife after the marriage. This problems make bad atmosphere for the parents and the children. So, to avoid the divorce that destruct the family and destroy the children life Islam approved the polygamy as an alternative. Polygamy is very important since Islam is universal, everlasting and alive. we can not deny that polygamy was allowed in old times. However, was not allowed to satisfy one's sensual desires but as a solution to some social problems which, could not otherwise be solved. There are many causes that may lead to polygamy in Islam.

Causes of Polygamy In Islam:

Polygamy used instead of divorce.
Polygamy is best applied as an alternative of adultery.
A wife may have hopeless disease, so polygamy is a solution for the all family, for she, her husband, and children.
One of the main purpose of marriage is to multiply the race, so by polygamy we can fulfill this goal.
In general, women's number is much more than that of men. Some cases as wars make this situation obvious and clear. In these cases polygamy is a great solution to face maiden and illegal relationships problems.

Conclusion about Polygamy In Islam:

And as a conclusion we can follow our prophet who applied polygamy in his life. We can follow him by solving our problems by polygamy instead of divorce. Polygamy is much more better than divorce or adultery.

Malaysian state government support polygamy

Islamic Malaysian state, Kelantan, has announced that it will grant financial aid to members of parliament who accept to marry a second or third or fourth wife. Family and health committee chairwoman in the state said that fathers who have good jobs should practice polygamy. This suggesting is to solve the problem of increasing numbers of single and unmarried mothers in Kelantan. As you likely know, there is majority of Muslims in Malaysia.

When you enter a beautiful orchard, fulfill of trees, you will have the desire to eat from all kinds of the fruits, because each fruit has its own vitamins, and also its benefits. This is exactly what we mean by the idea of "two or three or four". Every woman has her virtues and good characteristics, so when you have one woman, you own some virtues. And when you marry the second, you own some other virtues that doesn't exist in the first. And when you have the third, or the fourth, you can say that you have from all the vitamins that are existed in "two or three or four" and are very necessary for you. And if we go back the Islamic age, we will find that this idea of "two or three or four" can be seen easily. Our generous prophet married nine women because of special wisdom. And many of his friends were married "two or three or four".

1. Ibn Mas'ood said: if there will be more than ten days in my life, I would like to marry because I don't like to meet my god and I am unmarried. This assures the idea of "two or three or four".

2. Omar liked to marry "two or three or four" because he said " I marry because of multiplying".

3. Sufyan Ibn Ayneyya said: Ali had four women, assuring the motto of "two or three or four".

4. one of our prophet's friend came to him saying: " I am poor". The prophet told him to marry. He did that and became poorer. Then Mouhamad said; Marry the second wife. He did that and became much poorer. And so, he married the third,and finally the fourth, applying the idea of "two or three or four".The wisdom appeared when the last wife was a skillful knitter. She taught her husband and his other three wives knitting, and they became a rich family.

This means that the idea of "two or three or four" is right and successful. And we know that our prophet married nine women and remained near from his God. This means that "two or three or four" is a good idea that doesn't make us far from our religion. But on the contrary, "two or three or four" helps us to live a happy life. As a conclusion, we can say that fruit is necessary, and having "two or three or four" kinds of fruit is much more important.

Polygamy or Adultery?

Which is better for man, to eat a good fresh meat or a bad spoiled one? No one doubts that the first choice is better. This comparison is like that between polygamy and adultery. Polygamy is to "eat" good meat while adultery is to "apply" a bad meat. And if we want to speak aloud the details, we can say that for a sexually, strong, hungry man, one woman is not enough, so he is obliged to look for another one. Surely he can find that through polygamy, not through adultery.

Why Polygamy is better than Adultery?

1. adultery is forbidden in Glorious Koran. Allah orders us nto to come near unto adultery because it is an evil way. This is clear in "The children of Israel" or "Israa".

2. Adultery causes dangerous diseases such as syphilis and Gonorrhea. They both happen as a result of adultery which is an illegal sexual relationship.

3. We can't deny that "AIDS", which is the most dangerous disease man has ever known, is the main result of the adultery. But, what is the solution? It is really Polygamy. Polygamy can be performed instead of adultery without any fear or shy.

Conclusion about Polygamy or Adultery:

There is no fear of being ill, or from being punished. Allah allows polygamy in Koran, in "women" by saying: "And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans, marry women of your choice, tow or three or four."

As a conclusion, we can assure that polygamy is far better than adultery. Polygamy is good and useful whereas adultery is bad and harmful.
